Big Bullets assistant coach Mabvuto Lungu has admitted that he was relieved with Saturday’s 2-1 win over Civo United at Kamuzu Stadium as pressure was mounting in their bid for the TNM Super League title defence.

“We are champions and every team coming our way is hard. I must admit that the going is getting tough. Every team comes to us very prepared and that is the challenge of being champions,” Lungu said in a post-match interview.

Saturday’s game appeared to be heading for a draw only for the Bullets to be rescued by Yamikani Fodya’s 53rd minute wonder free-kick goal which restored the lead for the popular team.

Earlier, Civo attacker Nelson Kangunje had, on the 38th minute, cancelled out Fischer Kondowe’s 23rd minute opener for the Bullets.

The Bullets went into Saturday’s match on the back of three straight draws that had started piling the pressure on the team.

Bullets were as of Saturday topping the standings on 23 points from 11 games; a point and two games ahead of rivals Be Forward Wanderers.
